Quan, it’s been almost a year since we first met. What have you been up to?-
Rebranding & taking care of my family. I've taken a step back to develop new designs and products on my personal site. I've got a trip to San Francisco coming up, and looking forward to creating new content.
The picture from the bottom of this post is you shooting from the skies towards the Bank of America building in Atlanta on a foggy day. What else can you tell us about this shot?+
The cloudy shot I captured of Bank of America was a great morning. It stormed a lot the previous night and I knew the clouds would be clearing up at a perfect time in the sunny morning. I remember passing by two construction workers on my way up and saying Isn't that a nice view and they agreed. I think this is one of my most notorious shots.
Tell us about the way you shoot, and edit. Are you working on any exciting projects?+
I do all my editing in Photoshop and colors in Lightroom. Most of my previous works are shot very wide and detailed. I try and keep a solid composition. I focus on vibrant colors knowing I can buff up the highlights in the shot. I also enjoy including a splash of cartoons and anime in my works.
It seems like you do a fair amount of work with Google Pixel. What’s that like?+
I'm an ambassador for Google, they like to feature my shots, sometimes sharing them on social media. I get exclusive deals I can share with my friends and followers, so that's a cool perk. I capture my shots on the new Pixel 4. They have given me the opportunity to expand myself as a photographer. Not just to use my DSLR but also a great, long battery phone. The unlimited storage is one of my favorite parts. It is quicker to launch than on a camera, and the transfer from my phone to Google Cloud makes editing also a faster process.
How would you say your photography has changed in the past few years Do you view your work as moving through different phases or structures?+
I've certainly gotten more advanced Photoshop and Lightroom. I try and tell more of a story with my shots. I want the viewer to be part of the story. I pay more attention to more detail. I also sometimes edit paintings and cartoons into my work.
What kind of people gravitate towards your work?+
I would like to have all types of people familiar with my work. I want kids, teens, as well as older people to feel comfortable and enjoy my work when they see it.
What are your goals for the new year?+
My plans are to travel and do more art shows this year. I also want to get into drone photography.
Have you ever used hemp products for daily maintenance, whether it be for concentration, to get a better sleep or any other reasons?+
I really haven't used much hemp in my daily routines but I definitely look forward to using more of your products.
